Why the animal theme works so well

Animals touch something in us. A sleeping cat, a galloping horse, a colorful parrot — these are images that instantly evoke warmth and calm. That's exactly why they lend themselves so well to color by numbers: as you fill in section after section, you completely relax and watch the animal slowly come to life under your hands. You need no experience, no brush and no drying time. Just you, your markers and a quiet moment at the kitchen table. New to this hobby? Then start with our beginner's starter guide.

The 6 animal sets at a glance

Animal Love

Warm, endearing portraits of beloved pets and cuddly animal friends. Animal Love is a sure hit for anyone with a soft spot for dogs, cats and everything cute — and the two canvases look wonderful together in the living room.

Animals in Nature

Deer in the morning mist, a fox among the ferns: Animals in Nature brings the calm of the forest to your table. Earthy tones and soft transitions make this set ideal for anyone who loves nature and wildlife.

Tropical Birds

Parrots, toucans and colorful feathers in full glory. Tropical Birds is the most exuberant set of this theme — a celebration of color that comes into its own best in the up-to-30 or up-to-40 colors variant for those flowing transitions.

Horse Life

Elegant, powerful and full of movement. Horse Life captures the beauty of horses in the field and at a gallop — a dream set for horse lovers and a gift that's guaranteed to hit the mark.

Underwater World

Dive into a world of coral, turtles and tropical fish. Underwater World is full of blue and turquoise tones that instantly calm you — perfect for the bathroom or a fresh spot in the house.

Beekeeper & Honey

Buzzing bees, golden honeycombs and a touch of nostalgia. Beekeeper & Honey is a surprisingly original theme with warm ochre tones — loved by nature enthusiasts, gardeners and anyone who enjoys that rural feeling.

Which size and how many colors should you choose?

You choose each animal set in the size that fits your wall, from compact 30×40 cm to a generous 60×80 cm. As for the color level: up to 20 colors (Essential) is wonderfully accessible and beginner-friendly, up to 30 colors (Detailed) adds more depth, and up to 40 colors (Premium) delivers the most refined transitions — lovely for the soft coats of Animal Love or the feathers of Tropical Birds. Still unsure? In our guide to choosing a set and theme and our complete guide for adults we explain it all calmly.

Beautiful at home and as a gift

The clever thing about a set of two canvases: they share one color palette, so together they form a harmonious duo. Hang them side by side above the sofa or the bed and you have a real diptych — two paintings that feel like one whole. And because you colored everything yourself, you'll soon have something on the wall with a story behind it. Looking for an original gift for an animal lover? Frequently asked questions

What exactly is color by numbers with animals?

You get a pre-printed canvas with numbered sections and a set of numbered markers. Each number corresponds to a color; you fill in the sections one by one and the animal appears all on its own. No paint, no water, no mess — and no drawing or painting skills needed.

Which animal sets does Stitchi Studio have?

Within the animal theme you'll find six sets: Animal Love, Animals in Nature, Tropical Birds, Horse Life, Underwater World and Beekeeper & Honey. Each set consists of two canvases that share the same color palette.

How many colors should I choose?

For your first project, up to 20 colors (Essential) is wonderfully accessible. Do you want more detail and smoother transitions — for coats or feathers, for example — then choose up to 30 or up to 40 colors. More colors means more refined work, but also a bit more time.

What does an animal set cost?

A set of two canvases costs from €59.95, depending on size and number of colors. You'll find the exact prices with each product on the collection page. Shipping is free, worldwide and with no minimum order.

Can I have my own pet immortalized too?

Absolutely. With Custom Photo – Color by Numbers you upload a photo of your own dog, cat or horse and we turn it into a numbered canvas with matching markers. That way you create a unique, personal painting.

Is color by numbers suitable for beginners?

Absolutely. You need no experience and simply work at your own pace. Start at the top of the canvas and work your way down so you don't smudge the sections you've already colored. Our beginner's starter guide helps you get going.
