About this design

★★★★★ The classic stork delivers a new baby among wildflowers

A stately white stork carries a sleeping baby in a blue swaddle, wading through a field of daisies, cornflowers, and lavender. A timeless symbol of birth and new life — perfect as a classic baby gift or birth announcement keepsake.

Why choose this cross-stitch kit?

The iconic black and white of the stork combines beautifully with the soft blue of the swaddle and the rich wildflower wreath at its feet — purple, yellow, pink, and fresh green. With 22 yarn colors, this is a detailed design that requires attention and patience — ideal for embroiderers who love a true statement piece.

Who is this embroidery kit for?

A timeless baby shower gift or newborn gift for new parents and grandparents, and a symbolic present for those who want to celebrate the birth of a child. Classic, recognizable, and enduringly beautiful — still heartwarming to look at generations later.

What's included in this cross-stitch kit?
  • Pre-printed 11CT embroidery canvas — symbols and color numbers are already on the canvas, so no counting is needed
  • 22 colors of premium eco-cotton yarn (Huacan) — stronger and more colorfast than standard yarn, less prone to breaking
  • Two gold-plated cross-stitch needles in a convenient protective sleeve
  • Step-by-step guide in Dutch, also suitable for beginners
  • Printed symbol overview as a reference during embroidery
Which size is right for me?

Our smallest size (20×30 cm) is suitable as a small, delicate gift to combine with a birth announcement card, while 40×50 cm (our most popular size) makes a beautiful size for framing above the baby's corner. Larger sizes (from 60×80 cm) become impressive statement pieces — perfect for keeping as a lasting family heirloom.

Please note: the physical kit comes in 30×40, 40×50 or 50×70 cm. Other sizes are provided as a digital pattern (PDF download) — handy if you already have canvas, yarn, and needles at home.

Pre-printed: The symbols and colours are on the fabric. You can see straight away where each stitch goes and work your way through colour by colour.
Counted pattern: You stitch on blank fabric and follow the pattern supplied. A traditional way of cross stitching that takes a little more focus. The counted pattern comes in fewer sizes.

Fabric: 11CT as standard (11 stitches per 2.54 cm). With the upgrade to 14CT, the stitches are smaller and you see more detail.

I’ve never done embroidery before. Will I manage?

Yes. Just choose pre-printed: the symbols and colours are already on the fabric, so there’s no counting. The instructions (in Dutch) explain step by step how to make a cross stitch.

What’s the difference between 11CT and 14CT?

CT stands for the number of stitches per 2.54 cm. 11CT is standard: larger stitches, easy to see. On 14CT the stitches are smaller, so you see more detail in things like faces and fur.

How do I wash my embroidery?
  • Hand wash your embroidery in lukewarm water (30 °C max.) with a little mild soap.

  • Leave it to dry flat, out of direct sunlight.
  • Iron the back, on a soft towel, to keep the stitches nice and plump.
