About this design

★★★★★ London’s iconic clock tower on the Thames

Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament tower over the Thames, with a red double-decker rolling over Westminster Bridge and an old-fashioned streetlamp in the foreground. Pink roses and lavender bloom on the waterfront — a nostalgic portrait of London that radiates warmth and British charm.

Why this cross-stitch kit?

The rich palette of warm sandstone hues, the iconic red of the bus, lavender purple, and soft pink make this a versatile project with a cheerful look. With 22 thread colours, the Gothic details of the Westminster tower and Big Ben's clockwork are fully brought to life — advanced stitchers will find a challenge, beginners a solid foundation.

Who is this embroidery kit for?

A lovely travel gift for anyone who took a city trip to London, and a heartwarming birthday gift for Anglophiles, British culture fans, or lovers of royal history. Also ideal for those who have lived or studied in London — a tangible reminder of many walks along the Thames.

What's included in this cross-stitch kit?
  • Pre-printed 11CT embroidery canvas — symbols and colour numbers are already on the canvas, so no counting needed
  • 22 colours of premium eco-cotton thread (Huacan) — stronger and more colourfast than standard thread, less prone to breaking
  • Two gold-plated cross-stitch needles in a convenient protective case
  • Step-by-step instructions in Dutch, also suitable for beginners
  • Printed symbol chart for reference during stitching
Which size is right for me?

20×30 cm is a fun weekend project to quickly add a London accent to a study or reading nook. 40×50 cm (the most popular size) looks great above a console table or in a hallway — a charming reminder of city trips. Larger sizes (from 60×80 cm) reveal all the Gothic details of Parliament and Big Ben’s clockwork — a real eye-catcher.

Please note: the physical kit is available in 30×40, 40×50, or 50×70 cm. Other sizes are provided as a digital pattern (PDF download).

Pre-printed: The symbols and colours are on the fabric. You can see straight away where each stitch goes and work your way through colour by colour.
Counted pattern: You stitch on blank fabric and follow the pattern supplied. A traditional way of cross stitching that takes a little more focus. The counted pattern comes in fewer sizes.

Fabric: 11CT as standard (11 stitches per 2.54 cm). With the upgrade to 14CT, the stitches are smaller and you see more detail.

I’ve never done embroidery before. Will I manage?

Yes. Just choose pre-printed: the symbols and colours are already on the fabric, so there’s no counting. The instructions (in Dutch) explain step by step how to make a cross stitch.

What’s the difference between 11CT and 14CT?

CT stands for the number of stitches per 2.54 cm. 11CT is standard: larger stitches, easy to see. On 14CT the stitches are smaller, so you see more detail in things like faces and fur.

How do I wash my embroidery?
  • Hand wash your embroidery in lukewarm water (30 °C max.) with a little mild soap.
  • Don’t wring: press the water out between two towels.
  • Leave it to dry flat, out of direct sunlight.
  • Iron the back, on a soft towel, to keep the stitches nice and plump.
