Small size (20×30 – 30×40 cm): start and finish

A small size is the smartest start if you've never — or not for a long time — cross-stitched. The project remains manageable, you see results quickly, and the chance of actually finishing it is significantly higher. Small sizes work best with a clear subject: a face, a pet, a building. Medium size (40×40 – 40×60 cm): the golden mean

The medium segment is popular for a reason: enough space for details in faces, but not a project that will take you a year. 40×60 cm (€47.95) is the most chosen size for a cross-stitch kit from your own photo — suitable for portraits of one to a few people or pets. It's also the largest size available as a counted cross-stitch variant.

Large size (50×70 – 80×100 cm): the statement

You choose a large size in two situations: for a group photo (family, generations, wedding party) where each face needs space, or as an eye-catcher for the wall.
