Candles burn on the mantelpiece beside a chocolate letter and a little dish of pepernoten (little spiced biscuits), and a child's shoe with a carrot for Sinterklaas's horse stands in front of the hearth. Through the window the December sky turns a deep evening blue — the magical moment just before the knock on the door that starts gift evening (pakjesavond).
<details>
Why this cross stitch kit?

The colour palette breathes gift evening: mitre red, shining gold, beard white, dapple grey, chocolate brown, warm speculaas shades and a deep evening blue. With 22 thread colours you get beautiful detail in the dancing flames, the bows on the presents and the brick pattern of the fireplace. A lovely project for beginners who want to stitch their first festive kit, and for experienced stitchers who love warm, glowing colour transitions.
</details><details>
Who is this embroidery kit for?

A much-loved gift for anyone who treasures the Sinterklaas celebrations, from young parents to grandmas and grandpas who look back fondly on their own gift evenings.
