His red cloak billows, the golden staff gleams in the moonlight and his white beard blows in the wind. Below him warm lights glow behind the windows, a chimney smokes and a few pepernoten (little spiced biscuits) and a chocolate letter tumble towards the roof — the excitement of gift evening (pakjesavond) in a single image.

<details>
Why this cross stitch kit?

The colour palette is festive and warm at once: mitre red, shining gold, beard white, soft dapple grey, chocolate and speculaas shades against a deep evening-blue sky. With 22 thread colours you get lovely detail in the folds of the cloak, the horse's mane and the little bricks of the gables. A lovely project for beginners who want to build up at their own pace, and for experienced stitchers who enjoy the contrast between night sky and warm lamplight.
</details>

<details>
Who is this embroidery kit for?

For anyone who treasures the Sinterklaas celebrations and looks forward to the first pepernoten every year.
