A little plate holds crisp speculaas biscuits with windmill reliefs, pepernoten (little spiced biscuits) roll across a red velvet cloth with gold trim and a mug of hot chocolate steams beside the candle. Outside the window the evening turns deep blue — it's almost gift evening (pakjesavond).
<details>
Why this cross stitch kit?

The colour palette breathes Sinterklaas: mitre red, warm gold, chocolate brown, speculaas tones and a deep evening blue. With 22 thread colours you stitch the folds of the mitre, the sheen on the golden curl of the staff and the relief of the speculaas with surprising detail. A clear still life with well-defined shapes, so lovely for beginners and just as enjoyable for experienced stitchers.
</details><details>
Who is this embroidery kit for?

For anyone who looks forward every year to Sinterklaas's arrival, putting out your shoe and the scent of speculaas.
