White puffs of steam curl from the funnel, pennants flutter along the railing and on deck Sinterklaas waves in his red cloak and golden mitre. On the quay, lanterns are reflected in the water in front of a row of little step-gabled houses, and above the scene, in elegant lettering, is the opening line everyone sings along to: Zie ginds komt de stoomboot — roughly "Look, over there comes the steamboat", the Dutch song about Sinterklaas arriving by boat.

<details>
Why this cross stitch kit?

The colour palette breathes gift-evening spirit: mitre red, gleaming gold, beard white, dapple grey, chocolate brown, speculaas tones and a deep evening blue. With 22 thread colours you stitch the reflections in the harbour water, the puffs of steam and the lettering in lovely detail. The text and the large areas of the boat make this a nice project for beginners, while experienced stitchers can really enjoy the lights and the gables.
</details>

<details>
Who is this embroidery kit for?

For anyone who looks forward to Sinterklaas's arrival every year and sings the songs at the top of their voice.
